It was a close race most of the way but Ackerman's 163 cubic inch Chevy engine was enough to beat out Rossi's 514 inches.

Kozera's red light gave the win to Harris.

Martel got the quicker start but Taylor's truck was quicker in the quarter-mile. Margin of victory = 0.047 seconds (approximately 10 feet).
