EARLVILLE, Iowa - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Federal-Mogul Funny Car at the Winnebago Division Five Event Five listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Cy Chesterman Runs 5.897/245.96, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.864/247.18, Was #2
Right Lane: Robert Kanenwisher Runs 6.224/232.91, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.166/236.22, Was #8

Kanenwisher with a lot of tire shake and will not improve, but stays in the number eight spot. Chesterman drove right through his tire shake. No help and he will stay number two for now.

Left Lane: Danny Crownhart Runs 12.567/67.44, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.428/215.82, Was #9
Right Lane: Gage Chaffee Runs 6.387/218.02, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.595/214.18, Was #11

Crownhart with violent tire shake and he clicks it off . Chaffee drove through tire shake to move into the first alternate spot.

Left Lane: Wayne Butler Runs 6.282/226.61, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.099/229.00, Was #7
Right Lane: Randy Fleming Runs 5.975/245.96, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.946/247.25, Was #4

Butler with a lot of tire shake and he will not improve. Fleming running pretty consistent this weekend.

Left Lane: Tate Branch No Time, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.032/239.80, Was #6

Branch was staged and the rpms went up and then the engine went silent and he shut it off. Apparently he hurt the engine as we have a little cleanup.

Left Lane: Vern Moats Runs 8.174/110.03, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.928/244.10, Was #3

Moats launched hard into a lot of tire shake and pedaled it once and got out of the groove. He pedaled it again and still could not get it to hook up and lifted.
