CLERMONT, Ind. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Truck at the 47th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals:

12:02 PM A plane flew overhead a few minutes ago trailing a large banner - "NHRA: Save Pro Stock Truck" No word on who paid for the open message... Patterson had the horsepower to catch Coughlin, and did it early, Coughlin's yellow truck was slow off the start, just 1.141 to the 60-foot timers.

Both trucks made a couple of wiggles, then settled down. At the stripe Daniels was leading Stanfield by a truck length.

Price was dead late - and spun the tires. Lingenfelter's Summit Racing Truck was long gone after that.

Eaton's new truck couldn't get by the Panella powered machine of Jeff Gracia. Gracia will fact Daniels in round two.

Perin will need to chop the tree down to have a chance. The driver did a good job, the motor just didn't have enough horsepower to get past the Jegs machine. Mike will race Patterson next round.
