3:21 PM Dunn took out Garlits in round one - this time the car hooked up well enough and long enough to defeat one of the best teams on the planet. The track temp is over 125 degrees right now, but Dunn kept the tires glued to the track till about the 1000 foot mark. The Yankees dragster started hazing the tires on the top end, but had a lot of extra real estate to work with because Gary Scelzi had lost traction at half-track and vainly pedaled a couple of times.

You could call this the battle of the breweries - this is a big race in itself, these two teams take running each other very seriously! Number one and two in National points - The US Nationals! This is Big! Dick LaHaie has been consistent all weekend. It was close all the way because Dixon's Miller car made up the starting line advantage of Bernstein before the 330-foot mark. From there Dixon legged things out to take the stripe by a dragster length. In the final Dixon will have lane choice against Mike Dunn. 3:28 PM
