5:09 PM The late afternoon sunshine tends to make the right lane hotter than the left because the walls and stands shade the left side of the track, so you will see all the finalists with lane choice pick that side. Rowe's best chance was a holeshot and he didn't get it, both cars with clean passes, but Rowe's '38 Chevy noticeably looser than Hood's '63 Corvette. Hood earns the honor of being the first Pro Mod winner in the history of the U.S. Nationals
