CLERMONT, Ind. -- Redell Harris, Baton Rouge, La., complained of soreness to the big toe, ankle, shin and knee on his right leg, after Neil Jacobs' Kawasaki went out of control, crossed the center line and made contact with Harris' Suzuki past the finish line in the shut down area. Both riders maintained control of their bikes after the collision. Jacobs was not injured. NHRA emergency services officials reported that Harris was transported to Methodist Hospital for evaluation.

Four-time Holley Pro Stock Dominator Duel winner Matt Hines was upset in the first round of the lucrative bonus event by rookie Shawn Gann. Today's winner of the special event will receive $15,000.

Angelle Savoie clocked a track record performance in the first round of the Holley Pro Stock Dominator Duel (second qualifying session), powering her Team Winston Suzuki to a 7.127 second effort at 189.87 mph to lead the 16-bike order after two sessions. Her time is the fifth quickest in NHRA history.

1999 Mac Tools U.S. Nationals Pro Stock Truck winner Mike Coughlin vaulted to the top of the qualifying order with a track record time of 7.487 seconds in his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10.

Two-time NHRA Winston Pro Stock Truck champion Bob Panella set a track record speed of 180.26 mph in his Chevy S-10.

Three-time NHRA Winston Top Fuel champion Shirley Muldowney, the 1982 winner of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, recorded a career-best time of 4.647 seconds in her pink Mac Tools dragster to anchor the No. 8 qualifying position in the 16-car Top Fuel order.

Mike Dunn posted a track record speed of 325.69 mph in Top Fuel, while Funny Car track records were set by top qualifier John Force (4.810 seconds) and Del Worsham, No. 3 (316.08 mph).

Ron Krisher moved to the top of the order in Pro Stock in Saturday's first session with a 6.902 at 200.00 mph, the first 200 mph run for a Pro Stock machine at IRP. However, Mark Osborne, drove his Dodge Neon to the track record speed of 200.74 mph.
