MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock at the 13th annual AutoZone Nationals presented by Pennzoil:

12:55 PM Like most of the first-round pairings here, these two have not raced each other this season. No typo in these numbers, both cars were out of shape and both drivers lifted, then got back in it when they saw the other car in trouble. Margin of victory = 0.373 seconds (approximately 76 feet).

These two have raced each other three times this season, Smith 2-1 for the series. Pawuk evens the score, leaving first by 0.02 seconds and running away with a fine run, right down the groove. Margin of victory = 0.081 seconds (approximately 22 feet).

Ironically, if WJ beats Krisher in their third meeting of the year, he will clinch the championship for Jeg Coughlin Jr. They split the first two times they met this year. Krisher got away first and was pulling away, but got out of the groove and almost crossed the centerline while WJ went straight after some early fishtailing. The Pro Stock championship is unofficially clinched.

"Your 2000 Winston Pro Stock champion," Jeg celebrates with a holeshot victory by a margin of victory = 0.020 seconds (approximately 6 feet). He loses lane choice to Pawuk in round two.
