5:33 PM Jeg was 5-0 against Geoffrion coming into this round, Geoffrion's last final round and last national event win coming at Topeka in 1997. It was a great drag race, identical reaction times and the two cars tied together all the way down the track. The difference appeared to be in handling, Geoffrion's car wiggling a bit while Jeg's was solidly in the groove. The margin of victory = 0.018 seconds (approximately 5 feet). That's Jeg's 10th national event win of the year, just one short of Darrell Alderman's record of 11 in a single season.
