ENNIS, Texas -
1:10 PM - "Scattered rain showers." Right now they are scattering on the Texas
Motorplex, delaying qualifying for the 15th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals
presented by Pennzoil.
Light rain began falling just as the final Federal-Mogul Dragster was ready to fire
its engine. Waiting in the lanes was a full field of Federal-Mogul Funny Cars,
with Pro Stock Truck scheduled to follow to open the first Pro qualifying session.
It's been raining for about 30 minutes now and shows no sign of letting up, though
the weather radar shows the area of precipitation slowly moving eastward. When it
does stop, track drying will take at least an hour, probably more, so we're down
for at least that long.
