Green to Assume Crew Chief Role

LAKE FOREST, Calif. -- Budweiser King owner and driver Kenny Bernstein has announced that Mike Green will immediately assume the crew chief role on the team following the Oct. 21 release of Lee Beard.

At the close of the 2000 season, Johnny West will join the Bud King team as assistant crew chief.

"Lee did a great job in many areas and certainly put forth a tremendous amount of effort," said Bernstein, "but the performance level these past two years fell short of our expectations. Making team changes is always a difficult decision.

"We believe Johnny West, with his strong capabilities, will be a great asset to the team and to crew chief Mike Green. We believe the two, who are fairly equally matched in abilities, will be able to turn around the performance of the Bud King."

West, currently crew chief at Vandergriff Racing, will continue his duties there until after the season finale at Pomona, Calif.
