Marnell's car is listed in the program as a Dynomax sponsorship, but the car door sports a "National Performance Center" logo. Smith shuts off after the burnout and pulls to the side. Marnell falls way off the pace, the engine popping and banging a bit. Left Lane: Brad Klein No Time, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.946/197.97, Was #8 Right Lane: Troy Coughlin No Time, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.952/198.50, Was #11 These two made their burnouts, then were signaled to shut off while the Safety Safari took care of a small trail of fluid in the right lane shutdown area, starting about where Marnell's car came to a stop. These two will get a chance to cool down and try again. Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 6.929/198.61, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.928/197.94, Was #5 Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.959/197.83, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.933/198.35, Was #6 Pawuk makes the run of the session (so far), just 0.001 slower than his best from yesterday. Nice pass by Yates too, among the top few this session. Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.920/198.44, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.905/198.17, Was #1 Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.902/199.55, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.914/199.88, Was #3 Krisher's car stepped out on the launch, getting out of the groove, while KJ made a nice, smooth run, right down the groove to take the top spot away from Krisher. Left Lane: Brad Klein Runs 9.546/96.53, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.946/197.97, Was #8 Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.981/197.88, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.952/198.50, Was #11 They cooled down and neither improved, Klein out of the throttle early in the run.
