Rain Delays Resumption of Race

New Weekend, Same Old Story

ENNIS, Texas -
Welcome to the resumption of the O'Reilly Truck Wash Nationals.
It's two weeks later and nothing has changed. We're on a wash cycle once again,
rain beginning Thursday evening and continuing through the night. This morning the
Texas Motorplex is a gray, wet sight, with just a few hardy spectators walking
around looking at buttoned-up race rigs.
The weather forecast for the weekend is for more of the same, with a possible break
tomorrow afternoon before another rain system moves in for Sunday and Monday.
Realistically, we need a day and a half of dry weather to get this race in - that
would allow two rounds of qualifying and four rounds of eliminations. If the
weather forecasts are right, we aren't going to get anything close to that.
Race officials have indicated that we could be here as late as Monday evening to
get this race in - though that would mean that teams with only one truck driver
couldn't legally get to Pomona in time for the first round of qualifying for the
Finals.
