We May See Some Racing Today
By Larry Sullivan

Keep Your Fingers Crossed

ENNIS, Texas - 9:15 AM - Stock and Super Stock have been called to the lanes. It appears we will see some racing today, starting with Sportsman eliminations. If the dry spell holds, we'll see "run what ya brung" Professional racing, out-of-the-box, with not even a time trial to tune from. Could be interesting.

For the trivia buffs, this marks the first time that NHRA drag racing ladders have been set using championship points instead of qualifying runs. Given the weather forecasts for this area, that unprecedented move was about the only way to even have a chance of completing this event. Otherwise, the event would have been cancelled, something that also has never been done before.
