POMONA, Calif. -
3:25 PM - About an hour ago we were ready to run the semifinals of the Budweiser
Shootout when a light, misty rain started to fall, bringing things to a halt just
as the first pair of cars was preparing to stage. A couple of minutes ago, after
repeated attempts to dry the track and resume racing, officials sent the Top Fuel
cars back to their pits. The event is on hold, a big, dark cloud parked right over
the Fairplex.
