5:49 PM We finally bring in the semifinal round of Federal-Mogul dragster. The curfew is just about an hour away and they will have to turn the winner of these two pairs. Hirata gets to the semi's before the A-Fuel motor lets him down. There was raw fuel coming out of the pipes right at the hit and he clicked it at half track. Nicholson takes the blown car to the final round.

Santos just puts the raceday field away with that pass. The screen showed a .894 60 foot number and the final result was low et of eliminations. Ormsby was correct when he tried for the light but was just .004 early. Santos has lane choice over Nicholson in the final.
