NHRA Names Siragusa Director of Business Development

GLENDORA, Calif. -- Southern California native John Siragusa has been named director of business development for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) effective immediately.

In his new position, Siragusa will cultivate the development of non-traditional clients and work to create and sell new sponsorship inventory. He also will be responsible for working closely with the NHRA business team to develop new sales strategies and initiatives.

"We're pleased to have someone with John's experience and capabilities join our growing team," said Bob Wagner, vice president of sales and business development for NHRA. "We're confident that John will hit the ground running and make quite an impact on our sales efforts at the NHRA during this very exciting time for the company."

Siragusa, 46, comes to NHRA following a distinguished career in a variety of positions with several top corporations. Most recently he worked as an independent agent in commercial insurance. Prior to that, he worked in ticketing and sales for Disney Sports in Anaheim. For more than 15 years he worked for several companies in the medical sales industry.

"I'm really looking forward to this new opportunity," said Siragusa. "NHRA presents quite an array of exciting possibilities and has many untapped areas that can be refined, developed and packaged for potential sponsors and new business partners."

Siragusa is a graduate of Long Beach State University and resides in Laguna Nigel, Calif. He and his wife Geri have three daughters, Maryann, Lisa and Laura.

Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., the NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. It presents 23 national events through its NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series. The NHRA has 85,000 racers and members nationwide and 144 member tracks. The NHRA-sanctioned sportsman and bracket racing series' provide competition opportunities for drivers of all levels. The NHRA develops the stars of tomorrow by offering the Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series, NHRA Summit Racing Series and the Street Legal Program. The NHRA also offers the Castrol GTX Jr. Drag Racing League for youths ages 8 to 17.
