3:57 PM Cannon gets the early lead and hangs on to it until about half-track. His car gets a little out of shape and that's all Sarver needs to go to his first ever final in a Funny Car. Margin of victory = 0.027 seconds (approximately 11 feet).

This was a great drag race. Capps gets the early lead then Pedregon starts making up ground around half-track. They go through the lights in a mathematical dead heat but the light goes to Capps. Pedregon's chute doesn't open and he goes off the end of the track into the sand. Sarver will have lane choice in the final round against Capps.
