Kalitta with slight starting line advantage, but Scelzi makes up the difference by 100 feet. Scelzi had the lead to past the 1000-foot mark. That is when the Kalitta team made the big top end charge to take the win. Margin of victory = 0.007 seconds (approximately 3 feet). Kalitta was going 266.27 mph at half track. This is Kalitta's fourth victory of the year. Scelzi moves within 31 points of Schumacher in the championship point chase.
