ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 31st Matco Tools Spring SuperNationals presented by Racing Champions listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 6.961/198.00, Now #1
Right Lane: Tom Martino Runs 10.059/91.53, Now #2

Martino was real loose right off the starting line and gave it up..

Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.952/198.12, Now #1
Right Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 7.981/126.51, Now #3

Allen got out of the groove and that was the end of his run.

Left Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 12.722/67.21, Now #6
Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 8.169/122.39, Now #4

Patrick shook hard and lifted while Troy had problems around half track.

Left Lane: Hurley Blakeney Runs 7.067/196.42, Now #4
Right Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 6.961/197.88, Now #3

Stevens with a good looking pass and Blakeney blew off the tires right on the starting line.

Left Lane: Brad Jeter Runs 6.952/198.58, Now #2
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.947/198.09, Now #1

A couple of good clean passes here for number one and two in time trials.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 8.518/112.44, Now #10
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 6.989/197.83, Now #6

Pawuk made a move toward the centerline and gave it up.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.967/198.38, Now #7
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.939/200.47, Now #1

Anderson was real loose on the starting line, but he stayed with it. Kurt with the first 200 mph pass so far this weekend.

Left Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.926/199.29, Now #1
Right Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 7.003/196.90, Now #10

Warren jumps in front of his son for the number one spot at the end of the first round of time trials. Warren's time would not of been good enough to make the show from May.
