CORDOVA - Sunoco Race Fuels Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #2

CORDOVA, Ill. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Sunoco Race Fuels Pro Stock at the 21st annual Amalie Motor Oil Summer Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Rocky Watford Runs 6.938/204.32, Now #21; Best prior run: 7.551/139.41, Was #22
Right Lane: Charlie Peppers Runs 6.885/203.03, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.932/201.16, Was #20

Watford was late sluggish off the line. Peppers made the show with this pass for now.

Left Lane: John Montecalvo Runs 6.688/208.10, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.750/206.42, Was #3
Right Lane: Ron Miller Runs 6.689/207.78, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.745/205.85, Was #2

This is for bragging rights among the bow tie racers. This is a great race, with the number one and two qualifiers.

Left Lane: Jon Yoak Runs 6.718/208.68, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.760/206.92, Was #4
Right Lane: Chuck Demory Runs 13.010/87.47, Now #18; Best prior run: 6.901/200.35, Was #18

Demory made a hard move toward the centerline, and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Wally Stroupe Runs 6.894/202.97, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.889/203.12, Was #16
Right Lane: Dwayne Rice Runs 6.724/206.39, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.783/204.76, Was #6

Left Lane: Steve Spiess Runs 6.698/207.59, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.781/204.94, Was #6
Right Lane: Ed Machacek Runs 6.934/202.12, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.887/202.15, Was #15

Spiess with a great looking pass.

Left Lane: Chris Holbrook Runs 6.925/201.88, Now #20; Best prior run: 6.926/200.68, Was #20

Lee shows the rest of the Pro Stockers who is boss with the quickest and fastest pass of the weekend.

Hay jumped into the top half of field with this pass.

Right Lane: Tim Nabors Runs 6.866/204.08, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.923/201.55, Was #19

Nabors goes from the outside the show to the number 13 spot.

Right Lane: Mike Delangro Runs 7.199/193.38, Now #22; Best prior run: 7.228/193.35, Was #22

Killan with a good clean pass to go from the outside - in.

yeoman knocks the Chevys down another notch with this pass.

Left Lane: David Jenkins Runs 8.236/124.59, Now #16; Best prior run: 6.887/203.58, Was #16

Jenkins had problems around half track and lifted.
