GRAND BEND - Sunoco Pro Stock Round 1 Eliminations

GRAND BEND, Ont. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Sunoco Pro Stock at the Inaugural Mopar Parts Canadian Nationals presented by Castrol:

12:08 PM It's Mountain Motor time! This was wild! Collins was in trouble off the starting line, his car trying to cross the centerline - several times. Holzer had a huge lead, then his car got loose at half track and he had to slow, allowing Collins to go by for a margin of victory = 0.009 seconds (approximately 2 feet).

This was a good drag race, the cars right together until the top part of the track, where Yoak pulled away for a margin of victory = 0.047 seconds (approximately 14 feet).

Baker got a small holeshot and Montecalvo drove by on the top end for a margin of victory = 0.041 seconds (approximately 12 feet).

Konigshofer got a big holeshot, but Spiess stormed by on the top end for a margin of victory = 0.007 seconds (approximately 2 feet).

Rockingham winner Yeoman gave Wilson too much of a head start and won't make it two in a row. Margin of victory = 0.044 seconds (approximately 13 feet). Wilson loses lane choice to Spiess next round.

Rice's car veered toward the centerline, but he drove out of it for an easy win when Alesci slowed on the top end. Rice loses lane choice to Montecalvo next round.

Nabors got a small holeshot, but needed a big one to outrun Lee. Margin of victory = 0.106 seconds (approximately 32 feet). Lee has lane choice against Yoak in round two.

As it did on most of his qualifying attempts, Stroupe's car got very sideways on the launch and he had to give it up. Miller earns lane choice over Collins in the quarterfinals.
