BELLFLOWER, Calif. -- Gary Densham is not worrying about Y2K problems. "The "WHY" we didn't do better last year has been the focus over the off season. We have addressed several of our problems and are ready to go . Auto Club of Southern California has extended there contract in the year 2002 joining NEC Corporate Networks Group as sponsors of the team, and we are happy to announce the signing of Larry Meyer as Co-Crew Chief for the year 2000. Auto Club of Southern California Motorsports Manager Rick Lalor, is very enthusiastic about continuing there participation with Gary. " He presents the side of Motorsports ACSC is interested in with his dedication and perseverance. His longevity in the sport attests to that. He also take his motivational lessons to school for us in his "Road to the Future" program and dedication to the youth of this country is shared by ACSC. The signing of Larry Meyer has given a big boost to the team. "Greg Amaral, our current crew chief, was my student and his only experience in race cars has been with me. We think we have the same views. So we need a fresh view and another persons experiences to draw from. Larry has such a vast and varied background, I think he is just what we need. He's set national records in both Top Fuel and Funny Car. While crew chief for Cruz Pedregon, he won the only Funny Car championship in the 1990's besides John Force. He's had 19 national event wins in his career. Maybe he can lead us to our first."
"I am so excited about this coming year," said Densham. " I have an additional crew chief, some new
crew members, and a team that is the hardest working in the pits. Everybody is so dedicated to
winning this year, the excitement is contagious. This New Year's Eve, I will have a lot to
celebrate. No Y2K worries for me."
