Holley Performance Doubles $$, Now $2M

NORWALK, Ohio -- IHRA announced a record $11.1 million contingency program at the 1999 PRI show in Indianapolis, the biggest awards program in the history of the sanctioning body. The amount reflects a 37% increase (from $8.1 million) in cash awards from the 1999 to 2000 season.

IHRA Director of Contingency Karen Raffa announced the 2000 IHRA Contingency program, which currently has 73 companies posting $11.1 million for 112 products. “All our loyal sponsors stepped up this year; we added nine new companies that have been watching IHRA grow. We are in a very good position to give our sponsors what they need, and that is to sell more products. Our Sportsman and Pro ranks are growing and committing to IHRA sponsors for their car parts for next year. It was wonderful to see them cruising the aisles of the show with their contingency sheets ‘in hand’ shopping.”

Holley Performance Products CEO Jeff King announced a $1 million increase to their existing commitment to IHRA Drag Racing, bringing their total contribution to $2 million.

“Our support of the IHRA family is solidified with this $2 million dollar commitment to the contingency funds for both Sportsman and Professional class racers for the year 2000,” said King. “This is the mortar that will solidify the other elements of our partnerships with the IHRA family, which includes the Holley Spring Nationals at Rockingham, the Holley Sportsman Drag Racing Series and the Holley Sportsman All-Star Shootout program.

“This program affords our growing family of performance companies that includes the Holley Annihilator, Earl’s, Hooker, Lunati, N.O.S. and Weiand brands with an unparalleled opportunity to support the racers using our products and to say ‘thank you’ for that support. We look forward to a great 2000.”
