POMONA, Calif. - Lawrence (Larry) Yohn, 59, from Perris, Calif., was pronounced dead at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center at approximately 11:30 AM today from injuries received in a skydiving accident during pre-race ceremonies for the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Pomona Raceway. Yohn, a member of the Aztec Sky Diving Team, made contact with the track's right-side guardwall while attempting to land. Yohn was then transported to PVHMC, where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Yohn was a skydiving instructor at the Perris Airport Sport Parachuting Center and had logged over 2,500 jumps during his career.
