POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 35th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run: Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.383/181.94, Now #1 Right Lane: Rob Korn Runs 8.136/157.19, Now #2 2:18 PM Bob Frey has described Steve's Neon Yellow driving outfit as the "human highlighter". The bright outfit is blazing in the California sunshine today. Korn's Harley sounded sour at the start, but cleared up quickly. Left Lane: Angelle Seeling Runs 7.259/182.92, Now #1 Right Lane: Brian Ayers Runs 7.504/176.93, Now #3 1.09 60-foot time for Angelle and team Winston. She ran close to the track and event record here, just .009 too slow. Left Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.225/182.45, Now #1 Right Lane: Fred Camarena Runs 7.532/174.98, Now #5 Angelle came close, but Matt broke the track record ET record with that pass. Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.329/178.50, Now #3 Right Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.434/180.74, Now #5 DeSantis had to lean to the right after his Suzuki got over near the centerline past the 60-foot marker. Left Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 7.453/179.09, Now #6 Right Lane: Brian DeLong Runs 7.536/174.50, Now #9 Neither driver will like their 1.15 plus second 60-foot times....
