3:05 PM These guys qualified pretty close, it should be a good race. ...or not. Payne popped the burst panel at 700'. An ensuing fire under the car burned until he got the car stopped in the shut down area. The onboard fire extinguishing system put the fire out just as he brought the car to a stop.

Austin was skating around on the first half of the track, leaving himself open, but it looked like Newberry started chattering the tires on the top end as Austin drove around him. Austin will give up lane choice to Bartone in the final round.
