BAYTOWN, Texas - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the 3rd annual Matco Tools SuperNationals presented by Racing Champions:

1:40 PM and we have eight Funny Cars left. Johnson's car was hazing the tires from 1000', on through the lights. but he had enough of a lead to beat a cylinder dropping Lee.

Cannon was mixing up the cylinders almost from the beginning, the motor going dead at 1000'. Toliver had problems of his own, drifting very close to the wall at the finish. He keeps his hopes alive for the Winston bonus money, but he'll have his hands full, facing the winner of the team Castrol match up in the semi-final round.

The 1999 Winston champion and runner up are at the line. Pedregon had a pretty wild ride here, the car all over the track. Force will have lane choice over Toliver in the semi's.

Epler runs the low ET of the round. Sayers had his quickest pass of the weekend, but his car was pushing left, and he took out the finish line timing cones. Epler will have lane choice over Tommy Johnson Jr. in round three.
