HOUSTON - Rain Delay

The Green Blob That Ate Houston

BAYTOWN, Texas -
It's Saturday morning and a green blob is attacking Houston. The dreaded
"R-word" started showing up in the local weather forecasts Tuesday and as the
week went on the probabilities kept growing.
Rain finally arrived at Houston Raceway Park at 11:00 AM EDT, just enough to
delay the start of the third qualifying session for Pro Stock Motorcycles by
a few minutes. Then, around 11:35 AM, rain started in earnest, bringing
things to a complete halt after just six pairs of qualifiers made their runs.
The rain is expected to be "scattered," so we should have ample opportunity
to watch the Safety Safari doing their rain removal ritual (sort of a reverse
rain dance).
Come back in an hour or so and we'll let you know how it's going. The rain
is already letting up and the drying process should begin shortly.
