Yates regains lane choice and moves back to the left side in this battle of the Bob Ingles-engined Firebirds. Yates should take delivery of his new Don Ness Firebird in a couple weeks, and if the performance of Tom Martino's new car is any indication, the SplitFire team will be even tougher next year. Here, Marnell is last to stage and Yates rolling forward as the light came on, so he gets a psychic reaction time and Marnell is caught with his pants down when Rick Stewart is quick with the tree.

Coughlin gives the black car a run for his money, running his best of the weekend, but the Georgia driver is tough here at the Motorplex, and it's the GM Performance Parts Firebird with lane choice in the final round over the SplitFire Pontiac.
