Coates earned a 0.05 CIC penalty in the first round but it wasn't a factor here, Coates shutting the dragster down well before the finish line. Buddy earns a 0.08 penalty for this one.

These two were held in the water while an "invisible dirt devil" moved through the starting line area, carrying a funnel cloud of paper wrappers and other trash.

Swindoll got to the finish line and then there was an explosion in the intake that blew the air intake scoop off the top of the engine. He was an easy winner, Martel taking out the 1,000-foot marker and disqualifying his run.
