ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 2 eliminations in Federal-Mogul Funny Car at the 14th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec:

These two were pretty close thru the 330' mark, but by the eighth-mile Cheeseman was ahead by over two tenths, after Chesterman lifted and coasted the last 700' or so.

The Texan sends the Aussie packing, Harker out of the groove and shaking early in the run. That gives Jones lane choice over Cheeseman, too.

Austin's car was so smooth it looked like he was out for a Sunday drive... wait, that's exactly what he was doing.

Manzo's engine didn't sound right when he brought the revs up, and that may have made the difference as the tires went square almost as soon as he dropped the clutch. Regardless of what caused it, the end result is that Gill advances and the Kendall car heads back to Jersey.
