ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 2 eliminations in Pro Stock at the 14th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec:

 Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-Rd-Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed
  13 Troy Coughlin 6.893 200.53 Q 12 Darrell Alderman 6.890 199.77
   (K Johnson ) 0.496 6.891 199.73 E1 (B Allen ) 0.439 6.893 199.02
 *****WINNER***** 0.487 6.892 199.73 E2 0.446 6.978 197.02

Coughlin earned lane choice here by a mere 0.002 seconds, and he takes the left side. That may prove to be a key decision, as ALderman slows significantly from round one while Coughlin's pass is a virtual duplicate of his earlier numbers, right down to the identical speed.

 Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-Rd-Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed
   7 George Marnell 6.872 200.08 Q 15 John Nobile 6.914 199.20
   (G Anderson ) 0.494 6.879 199.29 E1 (J Coughlin ) 0.458 6.897 199.68
 *****WINNER***** 0.468 6.938 198.50 E2 0.509 6.913 198.89

That eliminates Nobile's shot at the $25K No Bull Challenge bonus, Marnell winning this one on a holeshot. The winning margin here was 0.016 seconds, about 5 feet.

 Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-Rd-Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed
   1 Warren Johnson 6.822 202.15 Q 8 Allen Johnson 6.873 200.13
   (M Edwards ) 0.470 6.860 201.16 E1 (R Stevens ) 0.432 6.924 198.76
 *****WINNER***** 0.458 6.854 201.47 E2 0.385 6.913 198.54

Allen Johnson knew he was at a big performance disadvantage this round, he took a shot at the tree, and came up 0.015 seconds short.

 Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed-Rd-Qua-Driver(Opp'nt)-RT-----ET---Speed
   3 Tom Martino 6.843 201.43 Q 6 Jim Yates 6.868 199.77
   (M Pawuk ) 0.457 6.853 200.98 E1 (M Thomas ) 0.459 6.875 199.82
                  0.434 13.157 64.94 E2 *****WINNER***** 0.480 6.890 199.11

Martino puts Yates in the right side, but it doesn't matter as the Century 21 Firebird overpowers the track, fishtailing violently at the drop of the hammer. So we're down to the final four, and it'll be Yates with lane choice over Marnell and WJ with his choice over Troy Coughlin.
