7:17 PM Bowen was off the starting line, got out of the groove and had to fight to get the dragster straightened out. Henkelman was mixing up cylinders at the beginning of the run, picked them up but ran out of room.

This was a mismatch on paper....and it works out that way on the track. Hirata could almost bracket race with this car. He has lane choice over Bowen in the next round.

Snow leaves way too early and gives the victory to Gunderson. Gunderson loses lane choice to troxel in the next round.
