MILLINGTON, Tenn. -
Right now it looks like NHRA race officials have three plans for completing
this event this weekend:
Plan A - Three Professional qualifying sessions today, eliminations Sunday.
This plan is getting less likely as the rain delays accumulate.
Plan B - Two Professional qualifying sessions today, one Sunday morning,
eliminations Sunday afternoon. If at all possible, they want three
qualifying sessions because of the tight points battle in Top Fuel.
Plan C - One Professional qualifying session today, one Sunday morning,
eliminations Sunday afternoon. This plan faces the real possibility that we
will only get one qualifying session in today. It is the least desirable of
the three possibilities.
Right now the skies look much better - the clouds are beginning to break up
and we may have seen our last raindrops. If you want to place any bets,
take Plan B.
