MEMPHIS - Friday Rain Delay
By Larry Sullivan

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The green blob finally got to Memphis Motorsports Park at 1:00 PM Friday, October 8, bringing racing activities at the 12th annual AutoZone Nationals presented by Pennzoil to a skidding stop.

The rain came after several pairs of Competition Eliminator cars had made their second qualifying run of the event, with about half the field still sitting in the staging lanes.

Racing will resume as soon as the rain stops and the track is dry. The forecast calls for "scattered" showers today, so there's a pretty good chance we'll be racing again shortly.
