TOPEKA, Kan. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 11th annual Advance Auto Parts Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Randy Jones No Time, Now #2
Right Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 7.101/194.66, Now #1

We start round one of Pro Stock qualifying under sunny skies. the temperature is 74 degrees, barometer is 29.29 inches, humidity is 36% and we have a wind out of the south-southeast at about 17 mph. Randy Jones breaks on the burnout.

Left Lane: Jamie Yates No Time, Now #4
Right Lane: Larry Nance Runs 7.019/195.53, Now #1

Yates breaks right off the starting line. Nance drives it on through the quarter-mile for a good looking out-of-the-box pass.

Left Lane: Michael Holton Runs 9.529/92.84, Now #4
Right Lane: Gary Wiggins Runs 7.133/191.89, Now #3

Holt is out of the groove, first heading toward the centerline, then back toward the wall and finally he clicks it off.

Left Lane: Tony Gillig Runs 7.049/195.22, Now #3
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.966/197.39, Now #1

The first six-second pass of the weekend while Gillig lays down a good pass, too.

Left Lane: Bruce Allen Runs 7.011/196.19, Now #2
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 7.043/195.62, Now #4

Left Lane: Mike Trumble Runs 8.313/119.18, Now #9
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 7.070/194.60, Now #6

Trumble makes a move toward the wall and finally lifts. Morgan chatters the tires all the way through first gear.

Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 7.051/194.66, Now #7
Right Lane: John Nobile Runs 7.021/195.90, Now #4

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 7.078/194.49, Now #10
Right Lane: Lewis Worden Runs 7.050/195.19, Now #7

V. Gaines with a good looking 60'-time, but loses something on the top end.

Left Lane: Ray Franks Runs 7.057/194.44, Now #9
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 9.659/94.05, Now #16

Franks gets real close to the centerline, but keeps it in his lane. We now have a bump with Krisher holding that spot.

Left Lane: Ed Heck Runs 10.750/80.78, Now #18
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.983/196.36, Now #2

Heck is out of the groove and real close to the wall. WJ is close to the centerline, but stays with it to take the number two spot.

Left Lane: Steve Schmidt Runs 7.024/195.25, Now #6
Right Lane: Brad Klein Runs 13.937/74.55, Now #20

Left Lane: Hurley Blakeney Runs 7.158/192.91, Now #17
Right Lane: Mike Edwards Runs 6.966/196.64, Now #2

Edwards with great looking pass and just misses the number one spot because Jeg is faster.

Right Lane: George Marnell Runs 7.031/194.88, Now #8

Johnson rattles the tires hard, gets out of the groove and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 13.846/60.87, Now #25
Right Lane: Jim Yates Runs 7.026/195.90, Now #8

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.972/197.10, Now #3
Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 7.016/195.39, Now #6

Left Lane: Tom Martino Runs 6.998/196.99, Now #5
Right Lane: Richie Stevens Runs 7.006/195.73, Now #6

Martino is into the sixes and is the fifth car into the sixes.

Left Lane: Mike Thomas Runs 7.039/195.17, Now #14

That wraps up the first round of Pro Stock qualifying with Jeg Coughlin leading the way and Tony Gillig is on the bump with a 7.049.
