CHANDLER, Ariz. - Results of round 2 eliminations in Federal-Mogul Funny Car at the 15th annual NHRA Checker Shuck's Kragen Nationals:

12:34 PM We begin round two of Funny Car with great conditions, sunny skies, not too warm, and awesome performances already in the books by other classes this morning.

The Goodwin-Swayne camp has had a great weekend thus far, running in the 5.60's for the first time yesterday, and their parts breakage has been good: just a single spark plug that came apart so far.

Gasparrelli started skating left and right at half track, and it cost him any chance of catching Swayne.

Manzo makes a basic A to B pass (for him anyway) while Williamson shook, then skated left and right down the track. His car made a move towards the centerline at the finish, but Bret was able to stab his car back over to the left in time.

Mert shakes the tires coming off the concrete pad, and had to lift. Austin will face Frank Manzo in the Semi's Manzo will have lane choice.

Gallio is a no show. This run was expensive for Branch, with the sound of a loud bang it looks like he kicked the rods out the motor at the top end of the track. If he can get all the parts and pieces back together he will face Pete Swayne in the Semi finals, and Pete will have lane choice.
