CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the 15th annual NHRA Checker Schuck's Kragen Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Brad Klein Runs 7.207/192.58, Now #2
Right Lane: Danny Coffman Runs 7.074/195.45, Now #1

10:35 AM Klein's car was very loose in the first 300 feet.

Left Lane: Jim Basko Runs 9.360/101.15, Now #4
Right Lane: Arturo Delgado Runs 8.531/116.21, Now #3

Both cars made hard moves to the right and shut down.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 7.037/195.99, Now #1
Right Lane: Hurley Blakeney Runs 7.082/195.68, Now #3

Two clean, straight runs.

Left Lane: Tom Martino Runs 7.092/195.25, Now #5
Right Lane: Tony Gillig Runs 7.050/195.53, Now #2

Martino's car was loose from 100 feet to 300.

Left Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.969/197.80, Now #1
Right Lane: Mike Bell No Time, Now #10

Kurt was straight and true. Bell's "Motown Missile" launched and stalled, rolling to a stop.

Left Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 9.014/10268.00, Now #9
Right Lane: Bruce Allen 7.045/195.22, Now #3

Pawuk's car made a hard move to the right and he called it off.

Left Lane: John Nobile Runs 7.007/196.87, Now #2
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 7.013/197.05, Now #3

Two nice runs here.

Right Lane: Allen Johnson No Time, Now #0

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.995/197.65, Now #3
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.988/197.80, Now #2

Two more nice runs, Johnson with the quickest Dodge pass in a while.

Left Lane: Ray Franks Runs 7.235/191.54, Now #13
Right Lane: George Marnell Runs 7.015/197.25, Now #6

Franks fell back early in the run.

Left Lane: Steve Schmidt Runs 7.845/139.36, Now #15
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 7.034/196.07, Now #7

Schmidt posted a 1.026 60' time, the quickest so far, but then shook and called it off.

Right Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.985/197.45, Now #2

Edwards left hard, but then the car started to do a dance and he called it off.

Right Lane: Dester Cambron Runs 7.082/195.79, Now #19

Trumble's car also started to do a dance, but he drove through it. However, he had a late chute and went off-roading at the end of the track. There will be a slight delay while they bring the car back through the back gate.

Right Lane: Robert Patrick Runs 7.028/197.10, Now #12

Stevens broke on the burnout, the motor dying just as he crossed the starting line.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 7.027/196.07, Now #12
Right Lane: Scott Geoffrion Runs 7.064/195.25, Now #20

"Tricky Rickie's" car also did a little dance about 200 feet out, but he drove through it.

Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 7.071/194.91, Now #21

And Allen Johnson is still the only Dodge in the field.
