Woods makes the usual weak A-Fuel burnout. It makes no difference. Faria has a great light and Woods goes on.

Carlson equals his qualifying time. Schmeekle is very late and is never in the race.

Santos parlays a .934 60 foot time into a very convincing win. Miersch does all he can but it's no help. Santos was very close to the wall on this pass.

Anderson has holes out on the A-Fuel car and we all know what that means. First round runner-up. Hentges looked good with a great light.

Strasberg leaves first but makes a 1500 foot pass. He's all over the track. Hitchman will go to round two.

Henkelman makes the save the clutch A-fuel burnout. No smoke and a non-heated clutch. Bingham could not hold the car on the starting line and turns on the red eye. Henkelman appeared to be very soft on that pass.
