HOUSTON, Tx. -- Tony Gillig with his father and crew chief Bob Gillig and co-crew chief Billy Wagner had an excellent first outing with their new NHRA combination. A string of 6.96's at 198 mph in the heat of the day gave the Gillig team a great boost heading into their first NHRA national event in Pomona, CA. "The car ran great as we are still in search of a good baseline tune up. We all worked together well and are anxiously awaiting the Winternationals in Pomona, CA."
Gillig is renting a Schimdt back up motor until Phoenix where he will receive
his new Olds headed motor.
