ORLANDO, Fla. - At 10:15 last night, the power went out at Orlando Speedway and they announced that the lanes would be closing at 11:30pm sharp. Stephen Bellinger in SS/NA from Kentucky is qualified on the poll with a 11.30 (-1.149) under. In Stock Eliminator, Jeff Teuton with his ET/SA qualified respectively in the #1 position with a 12.19 (-1.352) under. In SS/AA, Bucky Hess ran a best of a 9.06. We were told that Randy Hopkins, Don MacCallum and Sid Bonnecaire did not make a pass Friday night. All SS/AA cars. Joe Skinner from Ohio, who runs in the Super Stock GT/E category, chose not to make a pass on Friday night. Joe has no problem qualifying that pretty Beretta..., most of the time, in the number one position. Charlie Westcott Sr. has taken possession of a new 98 Pontiac Grand Am for Super Stock GT racing, and is running quite well in the #7 spot in GT/B, and we hear the car is a beauty. Being, that there is no Comp eliminator at Orlando this weekend, Charlie Jr. left the 98 Grand Am, F/SM back in Parma, Michigan, and is driving his fathers Beretta in GT/D and is qualified in the #3 position. This father and son team, definitely do their homework. Mike Walter from Paris, Ohio qualified in the #3 spot in F/SA. His wife Micci will be crew chief this weekend for Mike, because she is not racing her car at Orlando. By the way,.. after a great season, Micci Walter finished #3 in Division 3 for the year. Congratulations to Micci. Great Job.!! Thanks to our friend Bret Kepner ,we were able to get some information from Orlando. Bret talked with Carl Weisinger and Div. 2's Bill Holt last night and Bill told him if they can stay out of the morning dew, that it might be around 65 to 68 degrees this morning for record runs. I also talked with Carl this morning at 9:00 and he indicated that they were running records runs at that time. There appeared to be a few Super Stockers and Stockers who may not have made a pass last night and that is why a few that I mentioned are not on the qualifying sheet.
