POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Funny Car at the 34th annual NHRA Winston Finals:

They leave almost at the same time and are both up in smoke before they get to the christmas tree. Toliver is off and on the throttle first and up in smoke again. He then repeats that routine at least three more times while Pulde takes his time and is off the throttle for a long time and when he gets his foot back into the car hooks up and he motors on into the final. This is Pulde's first final round appearance since Dallas two years ago when he was substituting for an injured Whit Bazemore. He won that one against Cruz.

Force is out of the gate first and instantly up in smoke. Etchells with his best pass of the weekend and he will get lane choice against Pulde.
