12:05 PM It's a shame the TV cameras went home last night because Ron Capps just exceeded the wheelstanding tricks he's already performed on this one. The front end came up as soon as he launched, a repeat of last round, and Capps once again pedaled it, bringing the front end down. Then he got back in it and the front end shot skyward again, this time staying up there for a long, long time, the car getting the rear tires off the track surface. It finally came back down, hard, virtually ending his hopes of catching John Force in the championship chase. Meanwhile Bazemore drove down the middle of the lane on a conservative run.

This was a great drag race, Ron Capps' slim title hopes still alive when Cruz wins by half a car length. Cruz has lane choice in the finals against bazemore, but misses backing up a national ET record at 4.807 by 0.001 seconds, missing the $50,000 MBNA money by >< that much.
