1:09 PM The crew members in the staging lanes are still talking about Gary Scelzi's 325 mph busting run just a moment ago. Wow.

Wyatt's engine went silent at the starting line, just before he began the staging process, so Capps will have a single.

Capps lifts the front end WAY up in the air, ala Memphis, and bangs the front end back down to earth. The Cope team gets a huge break if they can repair the damage in time.

Mikres shook and pedaled the throttle, when he got back on the gas the front end started climbing and he wisely aborted the run at that point. Bazemore will race Ron Capps in the semis, and Whit will have lane choice.

Pedregon fishtailed so hard we saw both sides of the Syntec Selena machine. Force lays down a Titan missile shot, no movement left to right at all on that run.

Both drivers smoked the tires, Cruz lit up the Goodyears first, followed by Hoover. When Cruz saw Hoover get in trouble he stabbed the throttle and thundered past Hoover, who was laying down a sizeable cloud of tire smoke.

Pedregon will face John Force in the Semis, Force will have lane choice.
