LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 26th annual MOPAR NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.527/265.69, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 63 degrees, relative humidity 81 percent, barometer 29.83 inches, adjusted altitude 3,275 feet.

This Januik's third race this season in the dragster. He started drifting out of the groove, but stayed with it.

Left Lane: Jennifer Wiens No Time, Now #3
Right Lane: Randy Eakins Runs 5.437/259.66, Now #1

Wiens car broke right on the starting line.

Eakins with a good clean pass, straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Jerry Kumre Runs 14.326/76.86, Now #4
Right Lane: Casey Grisel Runs 5.510/261.07, Now #2

Kumre lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

Grisel is straight down the groove with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Mitch Myers Runs 5.613/256.99, Now #5
Right Lane: Kirk Wolf Runs 5.487/263.82, Now #2

Myers with a clean pass, straight down the groove.

Wolf kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot.

Right Lane: Richie Crampton Runs 5.320/269.51, Now #1

Austin with a good clean pass, straight down the groove to the number four spot.

Crampton launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Richie Crampton's incremental times: 60ft-0.962 sec., 330ft-2.443, 660ft-3.549/225.03 mph, 1,000ft-4.497.

Right Lane: Braiden Chesleigh Runs 5.739/218.51, Now #9

Blinzler with a good clean pass to go to the number three spot. Shaunda Blinzler's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.442, 660ft-3.604/213.84 mph, 1,000ft-4.596.

Chesleigh dropped a cylinder around half track and then was mixing cylinders up on the top end before he clicked it off.

Spiegel spun and made move out of the groove before he clicked it off.

Demke is straight down the groove, hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot.

Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 5.527/257.83, Now #10

Kalitta launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Mitch Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.914 sec., 330ft-2.363, 660ft-3.458/227.11 mph, 1,000ft-4.400.

Sampey is straight down the groove with a good clean pass.
