LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 26th annual MOPAR NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Will Martin Runs 5.754/231.83, Now #1

10:27 a.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 63 degrees, relative humidity 80 percent, barometer 29.84 inches, adjusted altitude 3,252 feet.

Martin was on a decent pass but was off of the throttle a little early.

Right Lane: Steve Macklyn Runs 5.661/249.39, Now #1

Macklyn got out of the groove early, drifted to the left, then got very close to the centerline at the end of his run.

Left Lane: Ray Martin Runs 5.598/261.22, Now #1
Right Lane: Doug Schneider Runs 6.087/239.19, Now #4

Martin goes down the groove with a decent pass to take the early pole. Schneider's car sounded like it was laboring all the way through the run.

Right Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 7.631/123.60, Now #5

Whiteley gets about 300 feet out and clicks it off, not sure why.

Left Lane: Tobin Gasparrelli Runs 11.339/73.53, Now #7
Right Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.579/261.62, Now #1

Gasparrelli rattles the tires, gets about 300 feet out and clicks it off. Whiteley goes down the groove with a good pass to take the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Bob McCosh Runs 5.571/261.42, Now #1
Right Lane: Shane Westerfield Runs 5.633/257.63, Now #4

McCosh makes a move to the left at the hit but was able to stay on the throttle and make a good pass to take the top spot for now. Westerfield went down the groove with a decent run to get in the fourth spot for now.

Bob McCosh's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.510, 660ft-3.696/208.84 mph, 1,000ft-4.710.

Shane Westerfield's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.515, 660ft-3.730/203.55 mph, 1,000ft-4.761.

Left Lane: Doug Gordon Runs 5.622/259.01, Now #5
Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.509/261.78, Now #1

Gordon goes down the roove with a decent run to get in the fifth spot. Bellemeur makes the quickest pass of session and takes the top spot.

Doug Gordon's incremental times: 60ft-0.964 sec., 330ft-2.519, 660ft-3.726/205.01 mph, 1,000ft-4.752.

Sean Bellemeur's incremental times: 60ft-0.941 sec., 330ft-2.456, 660ft-3.641/208.20 mph, 1,000ft-4.651.
