Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Final Session

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, Inaugural NHRA Nationals at The Rock listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Dave Richards Runs 10.391/74.71, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.945/329.43, Was #9
Right Lane: Jordan Vandergriff Runs 3.970/276.07, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.629/175.10, Was #15

Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 31 percent, barometer 29.88 inches, adjusted altitude 2,126 feet, track temperature 104 degrees.

Richards is up in smoke right at the hit, the car was completely sideway before he clicked it off.

Vandergriff with a great looking pass early, but then got real loose on the top end. He clicked it off early, but still goes to the number four spot.

Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 3.958/329.91, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.935/330.88, Was #9

Hagan kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make a good clean pass.

Left Lane: Paul Lee Runs 4.697/174.22, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.934/325.14, Was #8
Right Lane: Spencer Hyde Runs 3.976/319.15, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.035/306.12, Was #13

Lee is up in smoke and clicked it off.

Hyde is straight down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend. He moves up the ladder ione spot.

Left Lane: Chad Green Runs 3.965/324.21, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.920/327.27, Was #7
Right Lane: Daniel Wilkerson Runs 4.573/181.60, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.982/325.85, Was #13

Green with a good clean pass, straight down the groove. He will not improve.

Wilkerson is up in smoke around 330 feet.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.938/336.83, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.916/334.57, Was #6
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 4.980/152.54, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.948/318.92, Was #11

Todd launched hard and kept it hooked and hitting on all eight to make a good looking pass.

Pedregon is up in smoke around 330 feet and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 3.926/327.51, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.911/329.43, Was #5
Right Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.930/328.47, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.893/326.80, Was #3

Beckman kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight with the quickest pass of the round.

Prock is straight down the groove with the third quickest pass of the round.

Left Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 3.924/331.86, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.892/334.82, Was #2
Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.927/330.15, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.870/330.40, Was #1

DeJoria launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the second quickest pass of the round.

Capps is straight down the groove with another good pass.
