Funny Car Qualifying Notes, Session #2

MARTIN, Mich. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, Inaugural NHRA Great Lakes Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 3.961/327.27, Now #5; Best prior run: 14.728/44.23, Was #16
Right Lane: Jordan Vandergriff Runs 8.758/80.53, Now #13; Best prior run: 14.375/68.77, Was #15

Weather conditions: air temperature 72 degrees, relative humidity 57 percent, barometer 30.19 inches, adjusted altitude 1,942 feet, track temperature 104 degrees.

Hagan is straight down the groove to move into the top half of the show.

Vandergriff was up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 3.934/321.89, Now #4; Best prior run: 9.934/79.34, Was #16
Right Lane: Chad Green Runs 3.947/329.91, Now #6; Best prior run: 8.961/80.52, Was #14

Beckman kept it hooked up and gets off the bump, all the way to the number four spot.

Green is straight down the groove to the number six spot.

Left Lane: Dave Richards Runs 3.980/316.90, Now #10; Best prior run: 9.400/75.29, Was #16
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 3.886/327.51, Now #1; Best prior run: 8.168/80.31, Was #13

Richards with a good pass, straight down the groove to get off the bump spot.

Pedregon launched had and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot.

Left Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 3.924/331.86, Now #5; Best prior run: 8.630/84.71, Was #15
Right Lane: Joey Haas Runs 9.185/76.47, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.097/273.56, Was #13

DeJoria is straight down the groove to move into the top half of the show.

Haas shook right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Hunter Green Runs 4.083/305.50, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.529/181.23, Was #15
Right Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 3.980/314.47, Now #12; Best prior run: 4.036/314.47, Was #12

Green is straight down the groove with a clean pass.

Haddock kept it hooked up to make his quickest pass of the season.

Right Lane: Spencer Hyde Runs 3.916/331.13, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.962/317.57, Was #10

Hyde launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number three spot.

Left Lane: Daniel Wilkerson Runs 3.903/321.20, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.917/321.20, Was #4
Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.930/326.80, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.947/331.13, Was #8

Wilkerson launched hard and kept it hooked up to move up the ladder one spot.

Capps is straight down the groove with his quickest pass. He moves up the ladder one spot.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.898/337.33, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.893/334.57, Was #2
Right Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.909/331.61, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.922/331.13, Was #5

Todd kept it hooked up and is straight down the groove with another good pass.

Prock kept it hooked up to go to the number four spot.
