Koretsky still has some time on his engine leasing contract with Morgan so he's still got Hemi payments even though he's now having a great weekend in a Cobalt. This is the 280th start for his pal Morgan, who has qualified in the 14th position 24 times. This is Koretsky's best starting position ever in his six qualifying performances. Though he enjoys a performance advantage over Morgan, Captain Chaos has lost in Round 1 three times. Morgan rolls in first and waits for Kenny. As soon as Koretsky lights the prestage, Morgan jumps right in and lights the bottom bulbs. The starting line is pretty much even but it's all over 100 feet into the run as the Cobalt noses over. From here, I couldn't tell what caused it. |
