Antron Brown won here in 2011. He also won here twice in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class. This is Antron's 18th Indy race, 10 on Pro Stock Motorcycle and 8 in Top Fuel. It is the 2nd time he has started from the bottom half of the field in TF and they have come in the last 2 years. J.R. Todd is making his 5th TF start at Indy. Brown is has an 8-1 record against Todd in prior events, 4-1 in round one. These two also faced off in the first round of the Traxxas Top Fuel Shootout Saturday, Brown won that one and the Shootout. Brown had a small holeshot, but Todd dropped a cylinder on the right side early in his run and Brown made his quickest run of the event for the surprisingly easy win. He will have lane choice against Connolly in round two. |
